Objective: Describe the characteristics of the class aves.
Answer these questions about birds:
1.       What are the similarities that are present in birds and reptiles?
2.       Which orders of birds have raptorial feet (talons)?
3.       What purposes do the feathers of a bird serve?
4.       What are three adaptations of the skeleton of birds? (There are more than this, just pick 3)
5.       Explain how the wings of birds allow them to fly.
6.       Describe how food is obtained and digested in birds. (There are some variations)
7.       How is the heart of birds different from the heart of most reptiles?
8.       What makes the system of gas exchange so efficient in birds, and why is this necessary?
9.       What makes the nervous system of birds more advanced?  What is their most important sense?
10.   How do birds reproduce? (Include how their young are born)
